Marketing trends 2021

2021 Marketing trends

2021 Marketing trends

Whilst 2020 has proven to be a year that none of us will forget, it’s time to turn our attention to 2021 and the marketing trends that we anticipate will lead the way as technology develops and consumer tastes change. Keep reading to find out more!

The rise of Social Media shopping

At one time, social media would have just played a preliminary part in the customer buying process; we’d head over to Instagram to see how people have styled that jacket we’d seen before visiting the store or website to purchase it.

As social media channels continue to transform, however, and we’ve all collectively moved towards a contactless way of shopping (in light of COVID-19), there’s no longer such a clear distinction between scrolling and shopping. Earlier this year, Instagram introduced a dedicated shopping feature on the menu bar of business profiles, allowing users to browse collections and purchase products without leaving the app itself. We expect both businesses and consumers to benefit from this feature in 2021 and, with such a shift towards online shopping, it’s clear that e-commerce stores must keep up with this trend or risk being left behind.

More brand collaborations

As we head into a new year, you can expect to see more marketing partnerships between brands and celebrities and/or social media influencers over the course of 2021.

Brand collaborations are a great cross-marketing opportunity because it can effectively double the exposure for both parties.

A fantastic way to drum up a storm and create a buzz on social media channels, both the brand and the celebrity/influencer can reap the benefits of increased growth and a greater audience reach.

A great example from this year is the Crocs X Justin Bieber collaboration. Back in Autumn, the global singer paired with the world’s most divisive shoe brand(!) to create a style of Croc that was so popular, it pretty much flew off the shelves.

Be sure to keep your eyes peeled as we only expect brand collaborations to get bigger and better in 2021.

Virtual events are here to stay

Due to social distancing measures, virtual events have become a by-product of the Coronavirus pandemic and our approach to towards both hosting and attending them has fundamentally changed.

Though virtual events have become a bit like marmite, businesses as a whole have benefitted from an innovative and cost-effective way to engage and interact with customers – without the additional expenditure that comes with traditional face-to-face events. With the cost of travel, venue hire and catering all eliminated, virtual events are a great way for businesses to maximise return on investment (ROI).

With more flexibility and the ability to go global, virtual events have proven to be of great value. Love them or hate them, we believe virtual events will become an integral part of marketing strategies in 2021 (and beyond)!

Supporting local: Giving back in 2020

Giving back in 2020

As a marketing agency passionate about helping local businesses, we are in Shropshire, for Shropshire. We aim to go above and beyond to empower the businesses, charities and local causes across the county, working hard to support our community in whatever ways we can.

As 2020 draws to an end, take a look at some of the work we have carried out in support of our local community.

We supported the SaTH charity calendar

When Healthcare Assistant, Ryanne Errington, wanted to raise awareness of local keyworkers and raise money for Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals through a fundraising calendar, we made it our mission to help. With a tie to our local community, we provided free design and website support services, which included branding, design of the calendar and an e-commerce website.

SaTH charity calendar

We promoted local restaurants

In March 2020, it was announced all pubs, bars and restaurants in the UK would close due to the severity of COVID-19. When the news broke out, we packed up our media kit and headed into the town centre to capture promotional footage for local restaurant owners.

We wanted to help raise awareness on how local restaurants were adapting to the news closure by launching a film on social media. This footage was seen by over 7,500 people within 48 hours and provided a timely vehicle for local businesses such as The Olive Tree, The Alb and Severn Social.

Reech with Stay Telford Charity

We designed a new logo for STAY

Stay is a local charity providing support and housing services for homeless and vulnerable people in Telford. We rebranded the charity for their 30th anniversary. Providing free design services, we created a more contemporary logo to commemorate this milestone achievement.

We hosted free marketing surgeries

In a bid to help local businesses during a global pandemic, we launched our free marketing surgeries during the first national lockdown. Proving to be a saving grace for many businesses across Shropshire, our in-house marketing experts hosted a number of advice sessions.

Each company that took part in the scheme was provided with bespoke ‘prescription’ with promotional ideas they could implement during such unprecedented times.

Looking towards 2021

2020 has definitely proved to be a year to remember! Filled with new challenges and new opportunities, we have enjoyed helping local businesses adapt.

We look forward to welcoming 2021 and exploring different ways of giving back to the local community!

The importance of Photography

The Importance of Photography

When it comes to showcasing your business offering, professional and authentic imagery is more powerful than you probably think. From your social media content to print advertising and marketing materials, professional photography can give you the cutting edge over your competitors, increase your website traffic and ultimately lead to more custom.

Keep reading to discover just how influential professional photography can be!

Build your brand identity

First impressions are everything, and your use and style of photography is a direct reflection of your brand’s quality, professionalism and personality. Beautiful photography shows that you are serious about your products and/or services – so whether you’re a start-up or an established organisation, photography will go a long way in helping you develop your brand identity and gain significance in the market.

Gain a competitive edge

When you’re operating in a market full of competition, it’s important to remember that humans are visual by nature. High-quality images can make your business stand out from the crowd, which can be the difference between someone engaging with your social media pages or submitting an enquiry through your website.

Don’t forget – professional photography is aspirational, gives more credibility and reassures prospective customers that you are committed to providing a quality product or service.

Sell, sell, sell!

When it comes to selling your products or services online, impressive photography is undoubtedly a powerful marketing tool as it can convince a customer to carry out a specific sales-related action.

Let’s take a real-life scenario: you want to buy a watch and find two websites online that sell the specific model you’re after. One website showcases the product with clean, clear-cut and detailed photographs. The second website, however, is full of unoriginal, blurry, low-resolution images. Which website are you more likely to purchase the watch from? Consider this thought-process when you’re developing your e-commerce platform!

Let us transform your brand

Ready to take your photography to the next level? With an in-house photographer and photography studio equipped with professional lighting, backdrops and the latest camera equipment, we can help you showcase your products or services!
